Jen Jordan
- Abortion: Jordan said she disagreed with the U.S. Supreme Court decision that effectively overturned Roe v. Wade and paved the way for a 6-week abortion ban in Georgia. In the State Senate, Jordan opposed HB 481, which would have outlawed abortions 20 weeks after conception. Jordan is endorsed by Reproductive Freedom For All, which supports abortion access.
Sarah Hawkins Warren
- Abortion: Warren upheld Georgia’s 6-week abortion ban, which included limited exceptions for rape, incest, or when the mother’s health is at risk. Prior to that ruling, she defended a law as Solicitor General that could have charged doctors with a felony for performing abortions after a fetus is 20 weeks or more, based on the contested claim that fetuses could experience pain at that point. Medical experts said that the law could force women to carry stillborn or badly damaged fetuses to term. Warren is endorsed by Frontline Policy Action, which opposes abortion access.
