Abortion: Jordan is supported by Planned Parenthood Votes and Reproductive Freedom For All, which support abortion access. Jordan said she disagreed with the U.S. Supreme Court decision that effectively overturned Roe v. Wade and paved the way for a 6-week abortion ban in Georgia. In the State Senate, Jordan opposed HB 481, which would have outlawed abortions 20 weeks after conception.
Workplace Rights: Jordan is endorsed by Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the Georgia AFL-CIO.
LGBTQ+ Rights: Jordan is endorsed by Georgia Equality PAC, whose mission is to advance “fairness, safety, and opportunity for LGBTQ+ Georgians.”
Sarah Hawkins Warren
Abortion: Warren is endorsed by Frontline Policy Action, which opposes abortion access. Warren upheld Georgia’s 6-week abortion ban, which included limited exceptions for rape, incest, or when the mother’s health is at risk. Prior to that ruling, she defended a law as Solicitor General that could have charged doctors with a felony for performing abortions after a fetus is 20 weeks or more, based on the contested claim that fetuses could experience pain at that point. Medical experts said that the law could force women to carry stillborn or badly damaged fetuses to term.
Workplace Rights: In her 2020 campaign, Warren was endorsed by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
LGBTQ+ Rights: Warren is endorsed by Frontline Policy Action, a group that lobbies for policies reflecting Christian conservative values, including measures that would restrict certain LGBTQ+ rights.
